There is a fake version of WhatsApp that steals user accounts and private data from thousands of users. The research was sent by analysts at the security company Kaspersky.

YoWhatsApp is the name of the unofficial variant, a fully working messaging program that harvests login credentials for user accounts.

Even worse, it advertises on phony apps like Snaptube and Vidmate and uses the same permissions as genuine WhatsApp.

YoWhatsApp, however, allows you to attach two phone numbers to a single account and includes extra capabilities including anonymous texting, reading deleted messages, and password-protecting chats, in contrast to the original WhatsApp.

YoWhatsApp v2.22.11.75, according to Kaspersky researchers, steals WhatsApp keys, giving attackers access to your account. The developer's server, which is far away, receives the stolen WhatsApp keys.
